Central Ohio’s Most Comprehensive Hunter/Jumper Equestrian Center…

Located just east of Columbus on 38 acres of rolling pasture land, Bookmark Farms offers children and adults alike the opportunity to pursue equestrian interests.

red_graydriveway-300x225Built in 2000, Bookmark Farms is an established leader in training the beginner rider, as well as successfully continuing the more experienced teens and adults. Many of our young students have gone on to continue their success at equestrian colleges and/or “A-circuit” shows. Some of our adult and teen riders enjoy their riding at the local “hunt-club”, participating in trail rides, paces and clinics in a social atmosphere. Our students have competed in shows at Wilmington (FL) and Lexington (KY), as well as at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association National Finals, which has resulted in one of our students achieving National Champion honors in her class.

Our facilities were designed from the ground up by Owner/Director Joan Promen. After many years of teaching and training and managing equestrian businesses at other facilities, Joan was able to take her “wish list” and create the stable layout she desired. The large “Gray Barn” is the hub of most of the activity at Bookmark Farms, and contains 29 stalls. (The most recent construction project, finished in 2011, added 10 stalls to a new aisle on the north side of the building.) The Gray Barn houses the boarders’ horses, most of the lesson horses, an indoor arena, the offices, the Observation Room, six tacking-up stalls and a wash stall. Visitors appreciate and often comment on the nice “flow-through” of the traffic areas, as well as the cleanliness of the barn.

A large (125′ x 225′) sand riding ring behind the Gray Barn overlooks a small pond and our beautiful hay fields. The property also includes three turn-out pastures and a small sand turnout/riding ring. The “Red Barn” contains hay storage, camp activity areas, four stalls, and of course, the indoor/outdoor pen for our legendary pony Billy Bob and his goats. During certain seasons of the year, the Red Barn hosts Sunday afternoon pony rides for family visitors.

Bookmark Farms serves customers from Columbus and many of the eastern suburbs, including New Albany, Gahanna, Westerville and Pickerington. Many of our students come from Bexley, Upper Arlington, Worthington and Clintonville. With Columbus’ convenient outer-belt and the construction of the Hwy 161 connecting the city to the Granville, Newark and Heath areas, Bookmark Farms is a convenient and scenic drive from most points of Central Ohio. And don’t forget our proximity to the very popular Lynd Fruit Farm, which receives thousands of visitors each weekend throughout the late fall and early winter.
