Payment Policy

Important Information

To provide a quality education, all students are required to reserve weekly lessons at the same time and day of the week. When you ride each week, please remember you are reserving your instructor’s time, your weekly lesson horse and the arena space. Riding on a regular basis is not only good for the student’s training, it helps us maintain regular schedules for our horses and barn staff to run a smooth operation. By maintaining such schedules, we can ensure that your lesson horse or pony is sound and not overworked, that the instructor and tacker are ready and that the arena space is reserved for you. We appreciate your help in honoring your weekly scheduled lesson to the best of your ability.

Payment Policy

Until you have a regular, weekly time slot scheduled with your instructor, payment for any lessons you take are due the day of the lesson.

Once you and your instructor decide on your regular weekly time slot, our payment policy should be followed as listed below:

    • Riding lessons are paid for in advance per month. (This may be four or five lessons depending on which day of the week you ride. For example, some months may have five Tuesdays, etc.)

    • Payment is due on or before your first scheduled lesson each month. Please plan ahead to pay for your month of lessons if you know you will miss your first lesson.

    • We prefer cash or check, however we accept Mastercard and Visa, and Venmo payments.

    • We cannot split payments between family members, and request that one family member only be responsible for fees. Also, we will not run credit cards more than once in any month.

    • Some students who ride before 2 p.m. (weekdays) are not required to pay for monthly lessons in advance, however you must pay by cash or check at the time of each lesson. This must be pre-approved by office personnel.

    • If there are no office personnel present, please leave your payment (cash or check) or payment info (card numbers, expiration date and CSC code) in the black deposit box in the Observation Room. Please ensure the student’s name is attached to the payment.

  • If you prefer, we can keep your credit card information on file. We run cards on the first of every month. Occasionally, due to holidays, we run cards on the 31st of a month for the following month of lessons. Please leave a note for office personnel if you would like your card charged automatically each month.

  • If you cancel a lesson, you will be charged, however you have the option of “making-up” the missed lesson at no charge by scheduling a “makeup” with your instructor. Makeups are to be scheduled outside of your regular weekly lesson time slot. If you and your instructor cannot agree on makeup times, you may ask your instructor to refer you to another instructor at Bookmark Farms for your makeup(s). If you must cancel, please contact us at least 12 hours in advance.

  • For a more complete explanation of our payment policies, and other matters about our lesson program, please request a copy of our “FAQ and Payment Policy” handout.
